- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 November 2020Beautifully balanced knife. This is a beautifully balanced and sharp knife. I am a chef with over 3 decades experience, and I can tell you this knife is incredibly good, nice to use and comfortable in the hand. I'd recommend a fine whetstone to sharpen it rather than a steel, or god forbid one of those drag through sharpener. Fantastic value for money. Delivered promptly too.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 August 2021Not a ChefFor the record I’m not a chef but I feel like one every slice with this master blade. I’ve never chopped onions with such conviction. No tears just pure strokes. As I sliced my chicken breast it surrendered to me and bwahked “Damascus!” as if it was going to a better place. After cooking the meat, my focus was purely on the texture created by the blade. My taste had vanished. All I could focus on was the perfectly straight cut. I have never cried after eating a meal, and whilst the onion failed to make me cry but I simply fell apart. My body went into overload and I began having heart palpitations. I was later pronounced dead at the scene.Damascus!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 October 2021Razor sharp Damascus steel chef knifeFor the money this knife is bang on. 100% Damascus steel as you can see from the photos. My camera has a microscope lense and you can clearly see the folded steel. Believe it or not the second photo is from the top of the blade where you can see the folded steel. The Third photo is the blades edge. This is my second Damascus knife and I paid alot more for my first. This is hands on as good. Razor sharp and so good in the hand.Take it from me you won't buy a better knife for the money.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 November 2021a sharp knife, but heavy and heel weighted. This knife comes sharp from the factory, and cuts well. However the balance and weight of this knife are not what I expect from a santoku. The blade is rather thick (4mm at the point where the blade meets the handle). Also the full tang construction puts a lot of weight in the handle, so this is a heavily heel weighted knife. the balance point is not where the blade and handle meet, but a bit back in the handle. some people may like this heavier feel and heel weighting, depending on personal preference. If you prefer to use a pinch grip, then a balance point further forward may be more comfortable. Also my expectation of a santoku would be for a thinner blade, and more forward balance point to better support push cutting. I have found this knife to lend itself more towards rock chopping. The curve at the heel of the knife where it transitions to the integrated metal ferule is smooth and comfortable, but the transition between the blade and ferule is a little bit sharp, and might rub uncomfortably with a pinch grip for long use.You do get good quality steel for the price, I have not way of checking the hardness, but it seems to be holding its edge well, so I have no reason to believe that it is not vg10 as advertised. I haven't sharpened this knife yet, so can't say how easy it is to sharpen. I am happy with the edge on this blade, but I find the weighting and balance to be a bit off my preferences and expectations, I have a chef knife from the same manufacturer that I prefer the feel and weighting of.anyway these are just some observations that might be helpful to others to decide if this is a good knife for them.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 August 2021not a bad little knifeall in all not a bad wee knife at all, delivery was quick and if you were buying as a gift it is nicely packaged, only downside is that there is a silly sticker on the top of the box, recommend that you put this on the underside. knife itself is well balanced and has a good clean edge, only downside i see is that the handle is very smooth so could lack a little grip when wet. but this wouldn't put me off recommending it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 October 2020Great gift but watch out for stickersCame in a black embossed box which was pretty enough for a gift however it was ruined by stupidity. Someone had stuck a sticker on the front with a bar code and item description very disappointed.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 January 2021Great little sharp knifeWhat a fantastic little knifeSo Sharp and keeps sharpBe very careful washing it... Don't leave in the sink!!Its perfect cutter, meat / chicken boner and peeler but too small for a general veg chopperI'm really impressed
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 November 2020Care should be taken when using the knife, its extremely sharp. As already mentioned, the knife is extremely sharp. The knife is also well balanced and its gauge gives confidence to use, perfect for general purpose use. The handle is comfortable to grip with no slippage when wet. I'm happy with this product and recommend it to others.Note the knife comes without a sheath, merely a tip protector which is inadequate for storage. An oversight by the manufacturer who could and should have provided a sheath for safety and to help keep the product in pristine condition.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 August 2021It's the sharpest knife in our block!I bought this knife to replace the paring knife missing from our knife block. It was chosen because it is very similar in appearance to the lost knife. Where it is different is in the Damascus blade, which looks terrific and is the brilliantly sharp. the package it came in was really attractive, and delivery was fast! Absolutely pleased with this purchase.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 November 2021Looks and feels pretty good!I have only just received this knife and as it stands I am very impressed for the price!SERIOUSLY impressed. It is very sharp, looks great, is comfy to hold and has a good pattern.Only time will tell if the edge can be retained and it holds up to use.If I remember I will update.
