Customer Review
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 May 2018Another winner from Team ZeliteI bought the Comfort Pro Series carving knife for myself alongside some other Comfort pro series knives I was buying as a gift, as I already have a set of Zelite knives which I have been using for a while (they are still super sharp and a pleasure to use) and I was after a carving knife.Firstly, the Knife arrived in quality packaging. First impressions are massive I feel and as soon as you have the box in your hand you feel the quality. The Carving Knife is super sharp and you need to be extra careful when you first use it.The knife look very classy and has certainly fitted in with my other Zelite knives to give me a great looking set.On using the the carving knife, it behaved in exactly the way I have come to expect from the Zelite range. Perfectly balanced and razor sharp, it sliced through various meats with ease, giving super even slices of meat to whatever thickness you desired.Another winner from the Zelite team...
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 May 2018That's not a knife! The picture does not do this justice! I have used this to replace a 10 inch ham knife from my grandfather which was showing its age and this is enormous by comparison. The first task I gave it was to slice up a water melon and that was no trouble at all. I have also literally shaved ham off the joint; this is so sharp and well weighted that wafer thin slices is a breeze. The handle is very comfortable and the balance is brilliant the end result being that the knife very much wants to slice. The scalloping also stops the slice from sticking to the blade. If you were in any doubt about which ham knife you needed, this is it. Edit: added a picture next to my utility knife for comparison!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 July 2019Superb!Our daughter and son gave us the bread knife as a gift and we were so impressed by it that we ordered the carving knife. Like the bread knife, it is exceptional, who gets excited about a knife, well frankly not me....until now! We've had the carving knife two days and used it on a hot but rested joint, then on the cold leftover. Wow! This knife is so comfortable to use and slices like a laser. Our previous knife was £40 and it was really good but honestly there is no comparison, spend the extra few quid, you won't regret it.The bread knife which has been used for a few weeks is superb. I make sourdough bread every week, it's baked in a Dutch oven and the outer crust is very crisp and can be quite tough. This knife makes short work of it without the loaf being crushed in the process. I get nice, neat medium-thick slices, my neighbour thought l'd had the local Baker slice it for me!I cannot recommend these knives or the service l've received highly enough. The knives are a considered purchase but l don't expect l'll ever have to replace them.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 October 2018cut of meatwhy oh! why have i struggled for years when this is the answer , at last , a slice of meat , whichever takes your fancy , as thin as you like or as fat as you like , cutting evenly , and looking so inviting on your plate., left handed no worries can be used by left or right love this knife shall we have lamb tonight ??? buy it try it love it
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 October 2019Beast of a knifeWhere does one begin, I’m a professional chef and a carving knife/slicer is one thing I’ve never had much success with. Until now, open the box and this shiny beast is revealed, it’s ultra sharp when it arrives, as my thumb can testify. Carves 15kg joints of beef with no problems. Just strop it with a steel every time it’s used and pop back in box as it’s too big for my knife box
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 July 2019Does a great job of carving and is nice to hold, is very sharp and comes in a nice storage box.I've been wanting a decent carving knife for a long time as have been struggling with knife sets that were just not up to the job, so treated myself to this. Great knife for a large roast like beef, lamb and pork, although probably a bit larger than needed to a roast chicken. Came in a nice storage box, which I always return it to once washed. I would definitely buy other knifes from this range, particularly a boning knife and a smaller carving knife.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 December 2018Fabulous customer service.I ordered this knife for my hubby. It is as descibed and of brilliant quality.I had an issue with Amazon delivery, through no fault of Zelite, but their customer service made a bad situation better. Special mention to Sam as she/he was professional and understanding. Wonderful customer service, I would highly recommend!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 June 2020Makes Carving Large Joints Of Meat and Poultry A DoddleFound this to be a great knife for large or smaller joints of meat and poultry that I have cooked indoors or outdoors on my pellet grill. The knife is well weighted and very sharp and does the job that I bought it for, very pleased with my purchase
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 December 2018My first Zelite knife ....My first Zelite knife certainly won’t be my last. I went for the Comfort-Pro series as they are for domestic use.Fabulous knives!!! They look amazing, are SO well made, extremely sharp and the packaging is second to none.I will most certainly be collecting a set.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 May 2018The ultimate carving knifeThis is the best carving knife I have ever used. The combination of the unbelievably sharp blade and the shear length of it means you can slice through meat effortlessly. Thin cuts are easy to achieve. If you cook a lot of meat like me then this is a great investment.

- Can anyone recommend a suitable knife block or case (not magnetic holder) that will hold this particular knife, along with other Zelite knives I have. No, it should be cleaned and placed back into the quality case. I have found with 440 carbon steel magnetic contact will cause warping.

You should hone your knife regular – maybe every 6-8hrs worth of use and this will ensure it keeps its sharp edge. Honing only removes the microscopic burr that it put on your edge after general use – it does not remove metal, only removes the burr and realigns the edge. For honing steels, you will want one with a 10” or longer rod and with a hardness greater than your knife which is 56 Rockwell. Ceramic Honing rods are popular as here you don’t need to worry about hardness and work very well with our knives (Wusthof fine grit ceramic honing rod works very well). https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wusthof-Extra-Ceramic-Sharpening-Steel/dp/B002QF7JO2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486203001&sr=8-1&keywords=ceramic+honing+wusthof Sharpening depends upon your skill level with using a whetstone. If you are confident using a whetstone, then we recommend the King 1000/6000 whetstone – this is very popular. A lot of our customers prefer to send their knives to a local sharpener if they are not as confident using a whetstone. I have not used this one myself, but I got feedback from other customers that the Yaxell water sharpener works quite well with our knives – here is the link below: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Yaxell-Knife-sharpener-GOUSHARP-PRO/dp/B005EVNXDQ/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1503480108&sr=8-2-fkmr0&keywords=yaxell+water General good tips are to cut on blade friendly materials such as wood, bamboo or plastic. Surfaces such as stone, glass or ceramic would quicken the dulling process and potentially damage the very fine edge of the blade see less
- Is this any good for cutting very thin slices of cured meat, like Biltong, please? My hubby uses this knife and says he thinks it would be good for cutting cured meat. I find it too heavy to have precise control to make thin slices. It’s a fabulously sharp and impressive tool! We do a lot of outdoor cooking on the smoker and it makes light work of any meat.
