- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 June 2020Could be great if it was made to usually good VASAGLE standardsNice looking overall, wood surface with mix of glass & minimal framework is a nice effort.However...the assembly holes are not drilled correctly & the screw threads leave a lot to be desired (way below usual standard) so before attempting to assemble you have to be pre screw every one then undo to have a chance of putting it together.The hole positions don't line up so when finally assembled the item is out of square & the bases of the frame is misaligned.Not enough to make it noticeable at a distance & you can level it up with the feet attached to the base BUT it makes the glass section uneven so it doesn't sit flush in the metal inset section & the tiny plastic pads don't really allow for any adjustments.It could be a really nice piece & as I've got multiple items from this range (cabinets, bedside tables, clothing rails etc) its not a "customer assembly issue".As with the clothing rails this item is clearly either NOT made in the same factory as the majority of the VASAGLE range or it's another example of what appears to be "hit & miss Quality Control/Assurance procedures".The only reason not returned as it's not worth the hassle trying to repackage the glass etc & hump to the drop off point for return (quite a heavy/awkward package).Scored "2" as a courtesy to Songmics as the majority of products ordered/supplied usually "4 to 5" star & as a Quality Professional for almost 29 years I've seen a lot of products so "I am posting a professional as opposed to personal review".

I love the glass top with the wooden shelf underneath, perfect for displaying coffee table books.The table is very sturdy and is made out of quality materials.Highly recommended and can’t wait till the side table to match comes back in stock to buy.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 April 2021Its ok, looks nicer than it actually is.Item arrived really quick, was told up to 2 weeks but came in 3 days. Box arrived damaged and the item is also damaged on that same corner, which is a pity as its the top frame and so visible. The wood shelf has a scratch on it and the glass is also marked (which wont come off). Assembly was ok but 1 of the metal holes has big sharp piece of metal in the way which i managed to bend out the way, 2 of the plastic threads in the wood shelf wont tighten. The whole frame was twisted when assembling but managed somehow to straighten up once all the fixings were tight. The glass top is slightly recessed which is a pain, i purchased this for a chess board that is the exact same width of the table so it sits on the metal frame. It looks nicer than it is and i wouldn't buy another.

It’s easy to put together, very sturdy, and looks great. Love it so much that by the time my actual coffee table arrived in December I didn’t want it anymore and then had to sell it. Have now also bought the matching side table.

- Does the middle shelf have glass sides?No, there are no sides it’s a black metal frame with a wood effect middle shelve and a top glass panel/shelf
- What is the distance between the shelf and the glass top15cm total clearance between top & bottom metal sections (shelf to glass section).
- Can the shelf be adjusted as I need 160mm clearanceNo unfortunately the shelf is not adjustable, the brackets for the shelf are welded in the metal frame.
- can you remove the glass top?Yes you can, the glass top sits inside the frame and there are circular pads underneath that the glass rests on.
